Course Description:
Through this course, students will demonstrate their advanced skills in the art of writing and managing a publication. Newspaper, magazine, and anthology styles of journalistic writing and graphic design will be covered to produce student publications. Advertising and marketing strategies will be implemented as students hone their communication skills. Industry standard technology and software will be used to complete writing and layout assignments. Students will build upon their basic design and graphic skills and progress to an advanced level. Students will also demonstrate their ability to gather information independently, organize the information for effective writing and lead their peers to make deadlines. This course will include California Language Arts Content Standards for 11th and 12th grades.
