Course Description:
Through hands-on, interactive projects students in Electronic Systems Technology explore a vast assortment of electronic communication systems to include: computers and computer networks, video security surveillance, burglar alarm, fire alarm, professional sound systems, and public address systems. Students will also receive training in the foundation elements of electronics, fiber optics, cabling and the physical setup of electronic systems. Additionally, students will explore entrepreneurship, contracting, career development, employability skills and work to complete a Federal certification in OSHA safety. Industry certifications may be earned upon successful completion of the video security component of the course. Training in the course may prepare students for National Institute for Certification of Engineering Technologies (NICETT) certification.
